HAEMORRHAGE

BANDINFO:
The true bastions of bad taste bands who slaughter, splatter, spurt
blood, grind, sever and always have a mischievous grin up their
sleeve never give up. At pleasantly short intervals, they draw attention
to themselve by making quite clear what they think of socially acceptable
sounds: They don't give a toss.
For those
of you thirsting for bands of this calibre, you've come to the right
address. HAEMORRHAGE was founded in Spain in 1990. It still remains
a mystery how many different intoxicants were consumed at this momentous
event, how many splatter movies devoured to serve as inspirational
impulses, how many butcher shop promised their support.
What we do know though, is that this musical child was initially
called DEVOURMENT and was intended to be the roughest product of
European grindcore. The name HAEMORRHAGE was adopted in June 1992
and commemorated with various demos. Already back in those days,
these gave rise to a lot of controversy.
While the grind'n'noise freaks were enthusiastically destroying
their parents' appartments, the rest of the metal community threw
the tapes really far away. That's how big the shock was.
In 1994
Morbid Records - a label renowed for knowing no bounds as far as
hardness goes - got wind of the Spaniards. The "Emetic Cult"
LP was the band's opening metal attack, incidentally HAEMORRHAGE
are also the first Spanish grind formation to have a contract with
a foreign label. In 1996 came the next assault. "Grume"
had the likeness of the musical equivalent of the sound of a train
disaster, or rather, it certainly wasn't lacking in variety. Spirited
riffs at the mid-tempo supplement the characteristic HAEMORRHAGE
thunderstorms. Various split EP's with musicians such as Groinchurn,
as well as countless live appearances (e.g. The legendary gig at
the Fuck The Commerce Festival I and extensive tours with CSSO from
Japan and the Polisg band Dead Infection) make the lad's commitment
self-evident: A continual gush of power in the way they play their
instruments and present their shows...
...But getting back to the story..., Here comes the third LP -
"Anatomical Inferno". The title says it all; lyricwise
and music-wise. No there's still no sign of these Spaniards having
gone over to breeding dovers of peace and you can't expect an ode
to all the vegetarians in the world from the either. But that mischievous
grin is certainly still there, in their faces and between the lines.
Anno '98
HAEMORRHAGE stand for the painfull symbiosis of grindcore and old
school death metal whilist toying with the noisecore heroes of days
gone by. A modern and yet traditional way of keeping music in it's
non-commercial channels.
Are you tough enough for HAEMORRHAGE - or is Majorca the only thing
you like about Spain? The answer lies in "Anatomical Inferno"...
